Thinspo- Why???

Why is it that most of the sites on xanga are all Thinspo sites???

the fuck

Seriously??? WHAT THE HELL???

Why do you think being over a certain weight makes you ugly??
You know what's ugly?
Scars, bones, rotten teeth, bald spots.
And even if you're not the extremist, you're still encouraging KILLING YOUR BODY.

I don't know who called you fat, but they were trying to hurt you.
I don't know why you hate yourself, but this isn't worth it.

If you treat your body badly it won't do you any favors.
You'll have complications getting pregnant
LIKE MY MOM DID
do you know how it feels to know your mother hated herself???
but why should you have children? Are you going to call your 14 year old fat?
Are you going to show her how to hate herself? How to purge? How to cut?
Or will you start when she's a baby?
Don't give her any fat and you know what'll happen? She might be a size 0
But she'll also have learning disabilities because her brain won't form properly.
But she'll be skinny. And thats all you fucking want.

There are serious problems in the world. Your weight isn't one of them.

But why obcess about your weight at all? It's not important. There's so much more to a girl then how she looks, but when you focus on only your outside so will everyone else. And it's sad that some girls want that.

not all skinny girls are anorexic and not all fat girls are unhealthy(i eat more then a pregnant woman and cant gain a pound sometimes!). i myself don't support women going to great lengths such as starving themselves or looking in the mirror thinkin there fat and ugly. no matter what size if your not hurting your body or the being a bully to those skinny or fat , it discusts me seeing women pick on "sticks" or "fata**es" . it brings you to being ugly on the inside that no makeup or scale can hide. :)

I agree, I wish all girls were brought up to believe any healthy size is beautiful, as long as you're treating your body right.

I love the idea: "There are serious problems in the world. Your weight isn't one of them." Everyone sometimes needs to look beyond their body image........despite the number on the scale!

Thanks guys :)
I think the government needs to start programs in our schools because poor body image is becoming an epidemic, whether it's weight or any other "issue", I'm scared to have daughters because I'm afraid they won't love their bodies :/

Actually, you probably are ahead of the game when it comes to having daughters because you'll know to attack body images when they are young. I'm not sure our mother's generation knew that "body image" was important or what the warning signs of a disproportional body image were. (And of course, if they did there wasn't really a dialog created to discuss it) Hopefully we will be the generation that works to raise daughters that look at their bodies as vessels of health and positivism.

sigh..this is very sad. When I think "fat", it's a person being so overweight, he/she can't pass through the door!
I believe not many people are that extreme. An unheathy body is not beautiful!

I myself is born skinny, 160cm tall 40kg. And I really envy women with curves.
Being a stick is not a fantastic thing at all. The models we see aren't so skinny..They are tall and lean.
I believe when we see them in person, it will be different from what we see on tv or in photos. I hope all girls will start to embrace what they have and if they wish to "improve", to their standards, do it in a healthy way that will bring a glow to their faces.

scars are tattoos with better stories. never judge anyone based off theirs. people were brought into this world without a choice and often times forced to face situations that no human should and find an escape thats usually unhealthy. not saying anorexia bulimia or cutting are good things but the fact you call scars ugly is what has struck me with your post. try and be more sensitive to others scars, internal and external.

I used to be a cutter, I know a thing or two about scars. Cutting scars are ugly because they represent the hate one has for oneself. Old, faded healed scars on a healthy individual are the most beautiful thing in the world.

i find mine to be beautiful and a reminder to keep going. just remember not everyone views scars the same as you and try not to be so ignorant to other feelings about such a personal obstacle in their life. hearing about your cutting history i can only hope for the best for you and that you continue to keep it as a past problem not a current one. stay strong.
